Anthuriums

Toxicity: 

These plants are toxic to pets

 

Temperature: 

These succulents are very cold hardy, and can survive low temperatures.

They prefer temperatures from 60-85°F

Light Requirements:

Anthuriums enjoy bright, indirect light

Watering Requirements:

They need well draining soil 

Keep moist, but not wet

Allow the top of the soil to dry out between watering

They like humid conditions, keep on a tray of wet gravel or mist several times a week

Fertilizing:

Fertilize with a high phosphorous houseplant fertilizer in the spring and summer

African Violets

Toxicity: 

Non toxic to pets

 

Temperature: 

Keep in environments between 65-80°F

Light Requirements:

Bright, filtered light

Watering Requirements:

Moist but well draining soil

Do not keep in soggy conditions

Water plants from the bottom by setting them in a dish for as long as it takes for the soil to become moist. 

*You can also use special self watering pots

Fertilizing:

Fertilize every 2 weeks in spring and summer

Mildly toxic to pets

 

Temperature: 

Keep between 60-80°F

Light Requirements:

Bright, indirect light

Watering Requirements:

Allow soil to dry slightly between waterings.

Keep soil moist, not soggy

Mist plant occasionally

Fertilizing:

Fertilize during growing months (spring-summer), once a month

Air Plants

 

Toxicity: 

Non toxic to pets

 

Temperature: 

Should be kept in areas between 50-90°F

Light Requirements:

Bright indirect light

Watering Requirements:

Submerge in water for 20-30 minutes once a week 

Mist between waterings

Fertilizing:

Use air plant specific fertilizer a few times per year
